About Fawnio

Fawnio is an independent publisher of family safety and learning-tech guides covering parental control apps, kids reading programs, and language learning platforms. The goal is simple: help you work out what actually keeps your family safer and helps your children learn, and what is just marketing, before you spend the money.

What Fawnio covers

We work in three connected areas. Family safety: parental control apps, kids phones and watches, and the settings that come free with the devices you already own. We compare monitoring tools honestly, including where a cheaper or free option is the better answer. Kids reading: learn-to-read apps, structured reading programs and tutoring services, plus plain-language guides to how reading develops, so you can judge whether a program is even the right kind of help for your child. Language learning: tutoring marketplaces, class platforms and self-study apps, reviewed for what each format is genuinely good at rather than which one advertises hardest.

There is one thing we deliberately do not cover: covert monitoring tools that are designed to be hidden from the person being watched. Parental controls that a child knows about are a safety decision. Secret surveillance software is a different product with a different customer, and we do not review it, rank it, or link to it.

Who writes these guides

Guides are written under the editorial pen name Fawnio Editorial Team, Family safety and learning-tech reviewers at Fawnio. Fawnio reviews are written and edited by the Fawnio Editorial Team. Guides are based on the research method and evidence disclosed on each page, not the opinion of a single named author.

How we stay honest

Every guide states how it was put together and where it stops (see how we evaluate), and every affiliate relationship is disclosed (disclosure). Commissions never decide our picks. When a brand makes a claim we cannot trace to independent evidence, we say that on the page instead of repeating it, and when someone else's rating is worth quoting, we credit it to them rather than presenting it as our own score.

How the site is funded

Some links on this site are affiliate links: if you buy through one, the company pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. That relationship is disclosed on every page that carries such a link, and the full list of partners is on the disclosure page. We do not run sponsored posts, we do not sell placements in our rankings, and companies do not see or approve our reviews before they are published. Several of the products we review and compare pay us nothing at all; they are on the site because leaving them out would make the comparison dishonest.

Corrections

Prices, plans and policies change, and sometimes we simply get something wrong. Pages carry a visible verification date for their price and rating claims, and when a reader reports an error we compare it against the source and fix the page. Questions or corrections: contact us.
